Having not been skiing for a few years my wife (Janice) and I decided to try and fit in a quick trip before spring. We looked around but couldn't find any worthwhile deals. We run our own business and can only take short weekend breaks. We'd heard of indoor ski slope but never tried them. We settled on the xscape indoor slopes in Glasgow. I know it's not the Alps, but the quick ferry, and being able to take the car, made it very convenient for us.
When we arrived Janice hired some skiing equipment and I opted to try snowboarding. Janice was a bit rusty but soon picked it up again. I on the other hand had a couple of tumbles early on, but by lunch I could make my way down the slope in one piece. Getting back up the slope was equally as challenging and I caught Janice laughing at my efforts on the rope-tow, a couple of times. Still, she bought me a pint at the end of the day, which was well earned.

What's my Stena Line?
You don't have to take a long break, far away to enjoy winter sports
